Honoring our Veterans!!!

"Who You Wit?" ~Bernie Mac

Too often we have found ourselves masking the intimate connections in our lives so well that we even believe our own "fairy tales" of fabricated happiness.

But this is a new season. It's a time to grow together in awareness, acceptance and healing. A time to peel the layers away and reveal the power of newness that isn't really so new at all.

We may feel like mere spiders but an old proverb reminds that "spider webs united can tie up a lion."

Let's get through the hurdles of  self doubt, despair, fear, depression and even hopelessness, together!

Don't Sweat The Small Stuff

One of my favorite books is Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, by the late Richard Carlson.

Carlson's book is packed with powerful yet practical suggestions for being easy with ourselves. One such suggestion is to learn to live in the present moment. As a single person seeking a partner, this is helpful advice because we may be allowing painful thoughts from past relationships and the fear of the unknown about future ones to send us into a sweaty panic.

We all want to enjoy an engaging companionship and an exciting connection. Sometimes it gets a bit discouraging to look up from a busy life and discover that another year has passed by without an authentic connection with that special someone.

We're so busy thinking about the 'some day' that current opportunities to connect with the most fabulous singles is wasted on such unauthorized distractions.

To that I say, be easy with yourself. Lighten up, and if you're really ready to soar, remember not to sweat the small stuff!
